Bio
Chris Harris will be going into his second season as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the Walters State women’s basketball staff.
Originally from Nashville, TN, Coach Harris spent last season helping the Lady Senators to their 17th Region Championship and NJCAA I National Tournament appearance in the last 20 years while finishing 25-6 overall. Before Walters State, he helped Arizona Western College to a 21-10 record, while mentoring (2) post players that signed to NCAA I programs and (1) with an NAIA school.
This year will be Coach Harris’ 27th year in college coaching. He has been a Head Coach at the NAIA, NJCAA I and NJCAA II levels, with National Tournament experience at all three levels. He has also been an Assistant at the NCAA I and II levels, including an Ohio Valley Conference Championship (NCAA I), as an Assistant with the Southeast Missouri State University women’s basketball program.
His proudest accomplishments, he would say, are the multiple years that he has had programs ranked in the Top 25 basketball rankings and Top 25 Team G.P.A. rankings in the same year.
Coach Harris graduated from David Lipscomb HS (Nashville, TN) and received his B.S. in Health, Physical Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University (Goodwell, OK).
