Bio
Coach Makenzie Jenkins is entering her third season as assistant coach. As assistant coach, she helped lead the Lady Senators to their second TCCAA Regular Season Championship, seventh Region VII Championship, third Southeast District Championship and third national tournament appearance. Coach Mak additionally helped coach three of the program’s NJCAA All-American players.
Coach Mak was a member of the 2017-19 Lady Senators volleyball teams. After her time at Walters State, she moved on to coach at the middle and high school levels. She was the head coach for Smoky Mountain School in 2020 and spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Cocke County High School.
Her high school years were spent at Cocke County High School, where she played at the varsity level for four years. She also participated in club volleyball for 5 years during the off seasons. During her time playing for Walters State, Coach Mak helped the Lady Senators win two Region VII Championships.
Coach Mak has always strived to bring more opportunities of the sport to her local area. Her senior year of high school she helped organize and coach a recreation volleyball league for elementary school students.
She has an A.S. in Health Sciences from Walters State and is a full-time licensed Aesthetician. Coach Mak is excited to return as a coach to her alma mater and help to continue the growth of the Lady Senators volleyball program.
